Everest Base Camp Trekking Day 04 - Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

We started hiking at 7:45 am. Like yesterday, the first 15 minutes was very suffering. Difficulty in breathing seems to be a problem among us at that time due to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. But after a few hours, our body will adapt to the altitude and oxygen rate starts to level up with your body needs. You have to drink a lot of water. Water will provide oxygen to the body and help to replace the fluids lost through heavier breathing in the thin, dry air found at altitude. Beside that, garlic soup is also an excellent blood thinning agent. I stuff my tummy with garlic soup almost everyday since i step my foot in Kathmandu (I can't even hear the word 'garlic' anymore now..yuck!). The best way is to take garlic pill every morning before breakfast and two tablets of Paracetamol (or Aspirin would do) after breakfast before hiking...it helps! Most hikers prefer Diamox but for me, Paracetamol should be enough to prevent altitude sickness.

We trekked along the Kyangjuma Cliff with spectacular view of Thamserku, Ama Dablam and Everest leaving Namche Bazaar and the view of Khongde Ri behind. Almost three and a half hours ascending and descending through the largest trail drops over the edge of the ridge on the right hand side with cool breeze...err...under the scorching hot sun burning any exposed skin area, we reached at The Ama dablam Lodge & Restaurant around 11:00 am for tea break. From here onward, we can see Kangtega (6782 m) known also as The Snow Saddle, is a major mountain peak of the Himalayas in Nepal.

 Kyangjuma Cliff...ugh..very high.

Sun shining above the Thamserku peak.

I can still see the Goddamn Larja Bridge..!

Himalayan Tahr (Orang kita panggil kambing gurun).

Everest (the small one with the jet stream) keep peeking on us.
I'm coming for you...you son of a gun..

 Ama Dablam.

Around 12:45 pm we reached the Phunki Tenga suspension bridge (Bridge No. 07). The last suspension bridge in this trek. Thank God! We had our lunch at one small lodge after crossing the bridge. We start our trekking at 2:00 pm and after crossing a small bridge near Soso Kharka we begins a sustained climb through a forest of tall Rhododendrons and if lucky enough, can spot few Himalayan Tahrs.

Rhododendron Forrest (Reminds me of LOTR movie)

Bridge No. 07.

Thank God...the last one..!

Just before we reach Tengboche, around 4:45 pm we experience our first snow fall on Himalaya! Yay...! Exactly 5:15 pm, we reached Tengboche (3860 m).

Catching her breath (Air getting thinner. Oxygen rate was at 60%)
