Everest Base Camp Trekking Day 05 - Tengboche to Dingboche

We started our journey at 8:00 am and walk down through the Rhododendron Forrest and lower path along the west bank of the Imja Khola with moderate stone steps trek. We passed Deboche (3710 m) and the collapsed bridge near Milinggo and from there we climb beside the river for about an hour before reaching Kani Archway. Dorje and Pasang told us a legendary story about snakes at a nearby temple..sort of. We had our tea break at The Mountain Peace Lodge, Pangboche (3930 m).

Our team is ready to move.

 Rhododendron Forrest.

Everest is calling.

 The collapsed bridge.

A temporary bridge replacing the collapsed steel bridge.

 The snakes legend.

Dorje Sherpa taking his break.

Two hours later we had our lunch at The Himalayan Lunch Spot, Shomare (4010 m) before crossing a small bridge at the 'Flat Trail'....(yea, flat...NOT!). From Shomare, the sight of Ama Dablam will accompany you until it vanished into heavy snow fall. It was quite an easy trek compared to days before but very cold. It was about 1 Degree Celsius when snow starts falling with the wind chill is the typical culprit for making everybody freezing to the bones. We reached Dingboche (4410 m) around 5:15 pm and settled at The Dingboche Guest House & Lodge. We are now at the altitude higher than Malaysian highest mountain, Mount Kinabalu (4095 m)..!!!

Snowfall before reaching Dingboche.

It was freezing cold and my body was adapting a bit slow to the temperature. I don't even have the mood to speak at that particular time. With slight fever, I retire myself after the dinner.
